Durian Tunggal, MELAKA: A combination of participants from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) has recorded a proud achievement when winning the runner-up position in the Team Penalty Football (Men) event in conjunction with the 2025 Malaysian Higher Education Institutions Islamic Center Sports Championship (KASPIM) which took place from 25 to 27 July 2025 at the Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM).
This team was represented by Ustaz Muhammad Farhan bin Othman, representing the Sultan Mahmud Islamic Center UMT, along with two other participants from UMT, namely Ustaz Mohd Syafiq bin Alias and Ustaz Naim Rafizi bin Rahman and team members from UMPSA. They displayed agility and cohesion in every match until they successfully advanced to the finals and finished the tournament in second place.
Apart from that, the combined UMT-UMPSA team also managed to qualify for the final round of the 8x50m Team Relay (Men’s) event. Despite fierce competition from 8 competing teams, they finished the race in 6th position, a still proud achievement in such a competitive category.
This tournament brings together members of the IPT Islamic Centres across the country in various sporting events, as a platform to strengthen brotherhood, strengthen relationships and build a network of strategic collaboration between institutions.
Congratulations to all athletes! Hopefully this success will fuel the spirit to perform even better in the next edition in two years. We come more prepared, and more united!
