UMT Ramadan Festival 1446/2025

Ramadan Festival 1446H strengthens ties between campus residents and the community

This year’s UMT Mosque Ramadan Festival has been a very meaningful success, not only in efforts to celebrate this holy month, but also in strengthening the bonds of friendship between campus residents and the outside community. The organization of this program has had a great impact on the development of students’ personalities, community unity, and strengthening the role of the UMT Mosque as an active and caring community center.

Throughout Ramadan, 7 main activities were successfully implemented, involving spiritual enrichment such as tarawih prayers, tadarus al-Quran, iftar jamaie of 10,860 meals, and Lestari Ramadan presented by Sohibus Samahah Mufti of Terengganu State as well as special events such as Iftar Perdana with the Vice Chancellor and the Jom Kuca Bubur Lambuk Program as well as the distribution of bubur lambuk to residents and the local community. The presence of students, UMT staff and the surrounding community has become clear proof that the UMT Mosque continues to be a center of unity and support for the ummah in the true sense of the word.

From a welfare perspective, RM115,265.13 was successfully collected through donations from various parties, and part of it was distributed to 50 selected asnaf recipients. This is a noble effort that has fostered a culture of giving and empathy among university staff.

Even more impressive, a total of 50 students from 6 clubs under the auspices of the Sultan Mahmud Islamic Centre were actively involved as volunteers and program organizers, which not only helped in terms of logistics, but also fostered leadership skills, teamwork and a sense of social responsibility within them.

Through organizing this Ramadan Festival, the university has not only succeeded in strengthening the role of the mosque as a center of worship, but also as a center of personal excellence, social networking and close connection between the university and the external community. This positive impact proves that such efforts are in line with UMT’s aspirations to produce graduates who are not only excellent in academics, but also humanitarian, caring and responsible towards society.

UMT is very pleased to see the response and involvement of all parties, and is committed to continuing such programs in the future, in order to build a harmonious, competitive and high-moral campus community.
